Treatments
The treatments for the spine depend on an accurate diagnosis. At Congress Spine, the evaluation includes a thorough history, physical and appropriate images, x-rays or MRI scans. The first step is to address the pain, then develop a program to restore function.
I put patients in three categories, depending on severity. Mild symptoms include simple strains, arthritis, up to severe spasms. Moderate problems include herniated disks, stenosis or pinched nerves that create a significant debility and inability to work. The severe issues are incapacitating to the point of not being able to tolerate the pain, let alone work.
- Mild symptoms respond to Physical Therapy and medications
- Moderate symptoms require injections and more intensive rehabilitation
- Severe symptons will need everything that we offer and if the injections cannot calm the symptoms, likely, surgery is necessary.
